1. Messaging

What types of messages can I send?

  • SMS only
  • Viber only
  • Sequenced message: attempt to send one channel (e.g. Viber) first, if that fails, send the other channel (e.g. SMS).

Which mobile networks can I send SMS messages to?

With 4thCode, you can reach over 1,000 networks worldwide—almost every GSM network is covered. For additional details, please get in touch with our Sales team.


What phones can I deliver messages to?

SMS messages can be delivered to any mobile device that meets GSM standards, while Viber messages are generally delivered to any device with the appropriate application installed.


How do I know if my contact can receive a Viber Message?

Our system automatically sends status updates to your system via API request (webhook callback) for all message channels including Viber.


How to start sending messages?

For registering an account please contact our Sales Team and we will walk you through the process. Once we conclude a service agreement then we register your account and you can start sending messages.


What happens if a phone is turned off?

If the recipient's phone is switched off, our system will make multiple delivery attempts within the message's validity period.


Are my messages secure?

4thCode adheres to industry-standard security and data protection measures to keep your messages safe.


Is it possible to reply to my messages? 

By default 4thCode is providing a one-way service messaging solution. If you require a two-way messaging solution then please contact our Sales Team for assistance.

2. Payment

What are the costs of message sending?

4thCode offers a range of services and solutions with different pricing structures. For detailed pricing information, please reach out to our Sales team.


How do I pay?

Currently 4thCode offers messaging services with open-credit terms to clients who pass the credit insurance requirements. Please contact our Sales team for further details on payment terms. We provide detailed reports at the end of each billing cycle.


How does billing work?

Messaging services are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no monthly or annual basic subscription fees. Viber messages are charged upon successful delivery, while SMS messages are billed upon successful submission. Our Customer Dashboard provides a transparent breakdown of service costs. 4thCode does not charge for maintaining an account—fees only apply to the services you use.


What currency am I invoiced in?

By default, 4thCode processes all transactions in Euros. Any invoices or payment requests will be issued in Euros unless otherwise specified. If you prefer to be invoiced or make payments in a different currency, please contact our Sales Team for further assistance.

What type of customer service do you offer?

4thCode has a 24-hour/365 days customer service team available. 


Are there any restrictions on what I can send?

4thCode currently supports one-way service messages on behalf of our clients and does not offer two-way messaging or advertising messages. Additionally, we strictly prohibit any illegal communications, intellectual property violations, breaches of data privacy, obscenity, pornography, or any other restricted content. Can I customize my sender ID?

This depends on the network delivering the messages. 4thCode fully supports customer-specified sender IDs, typically up to 11 characters. However, some mobile providers in certain countries may not allow custom sender IDs. For specific details regarding your SMS sender ID preferences, please contact our Sales Team.


What is the maximum number of messages I can send?

4thCode's message system is built on high availability, fully scalable architecture. Whatever your messaging requirements, please speak to us and we will accommodate your needs.


Can I view my message history?

4thCode securely stores transactional details for all sent messages in compliance with legal requirements. Clients can access their full messaging history.


Are there any restrictions on the number of messages I can send?

4thCode's messaging system is built for high availability and scalability, supporting everything from individual messages to hundreds of thousands at a time. Whatever your messaging needs, we can accommodate them. Please contact our Sales Team to discuss your requirements.


What languages can I send messages in?

4thCode's messaging system supports all standard encoded languages. If the encoding is supported, message can be sent. For specific language inquiries, please contact our Sales Team.


Can I use special characters in my messages?

Most special characters can be used in SMS messages, though they reduce the maximum message length to 70 characters instead of the usual 160. Viber Messaging, on the other hand, typically supports special characters without limitations.


What is your message delivery rate?

4thCode is committed to ensuring your messages are delivered successfully. While most undelivered messages result from factors beyond our control—such as invalid numbers, network issues, or unavailable devices—the vast majority of our messages reach their recipients. To further enhance delivery success, we use our Number Validation Service to verify the validity of phone numbers before sending.

4thCode's Customer Dashboard integrates all of our messaging capabilities into a single, unified solution. It enables customers to configure their account for API usage and download message reports.


What is an API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a system-to-system interface that enables access to features or data from an application or service. 4thCode provides an API for all our services, allowing seamless integration into client systems. Our APIs are RESTful, available in JSON format.
